Zizou: “I’ll not lead Algeria’s team”

International football star Zineddine Zidane removes all doubt and announced Thursday, during his appearance in the French TV channel Cannal+ to analyze the European Champions League matches, that he will never coach Algeria’s team.

  • The response of the former captain of the French squad winner of 1998 World Cup following several news about the possibility that Zidane will coach Algeria’s team after next World Cup South Africa, especially since the current coach Rabah Saadane will not renew his contract with the FAF.
  • Zidane’s visit to Algeria in early March and his presence for the latch agiasnt Serbia, having participated in a friendship tournament in Algiers, left a glimmer of hope to the Algerians, who started to become convinced of the possibility that Zizou will coach Algeria’s squad in the future, especially since the project is supported by the highest authorities.
  • Zidane preferred to put an end to the rumours which were launched here and there, confirming that he will not coach Algeria’s or any other team, in an explicit recognition that coaching is not his aim.
  • Although these statements, Zidane asserted that he will help Algeria’s team in his own way, without giving any details saying only; “I will always advise the Algeria players”.
